DEPARTMENT OF NUTRITION AND DIETETICS

 The high school or lycee graduate students who are successful at Student Selection Examination organized by High Education Council will have the title of “dietitian” in case of completing their four-year bachelor’s degree education.

A dietitian is educated at the areas of nutrition and dietetics who examines the individual’s and public’s nutritional status and habits so makes health protecting and treating nutritional implementations, nutritional plans, policies and nutrition education.

With the educational background a dietitian can work in hospitals, child and old nursing residences, mother and child health centers, factories, institutional food services such as hotels and catering factories, sports health centers and private nutrition and diet centers in addition to all foundations where dietitian’s nutritional service is given. Graduates who want to make academic work can continue their studies in nutrition and dietetics departments of different colleges as research assistant or instructor and master of science and doctorate students.

Dietitian’s profession organization is “Turkish Dietetic Association” located in Ankara and it is a member of “European Dietetic Association”.

 One associate professor, 2 instructors (with PhD), 3 lecturer and totally 4 academic staff are working in the department of nutrition and dietetics.
